It’s funny, the things we take for granted.
Until recently, I paid no mind to the fact that I can light up my fire poi right in my front yard, my back yard, at a friend’s house, on a farm, in a field…the possibilities are endless here in Kentucky. This fortune was brought to my attention when a friend shared an article in the New York Times about someone teaching poi spinning in the heart of the city, in spite of the lack of green space.
I don’t necessarily agree with everything that’s in the article, but it’s an interesting read, none-the-less. And, of course, it’s always great to hear of this art spreading to others to enjoy. So, here’s a shout-out to NYC poi spinners. 😉
